Bitcoin has made such a huge impact on society that some people know the word “Bitcoin” more than cryptocurrency itself.
There’s plenty of reasons why though, as Bitcoin has become massively successful since its creation.

Let’s start off by going over what Bitcoin is.
Overview on Bitcoin
If you haven’t been living under a rock, then I suspect you know what Bitcoin is: it’s the world’s leading cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin, like other cryptocurrencies, is “decentralized”.
This means that there’s no governing authority ruling over its prices, much like a government or a bank.
This makes Bitcoin’s prices appreciate and depreciate regularly, making it a good investment if you know the correct timing.
When’s the best timing, you ask?
For long term investors, the best time to invest in BTC was 10 years ago and the second best time to invest is now.
Bitcoin has experienced a downward trajectory from its all-time high in November 2021 of $69,000.
Currently, Bitcoin sits at around $24,000.
While this may be sad news for those who already bought Bitcoin at its all time high, this is still the perfect opportunity for newbies and old investors as well.
If you’re new to Bitcoin, invest now and take advantage of these steep discounts and if you’ve been investing in Bitcoin, now is also a good time to lower your average cost basis.
Many experts are confident that Bitcoin will bounce back like it did in 2018 after it also experienced a crypto winter where it lost about 80% of its value.
But what comes down must come up, and Bitcoin not only came back to its original levels, but I am willing to bet that it’ll shoot up to all new time highs sooner rather than later.
It literally went to the moon and we’re just refueling until our next takeoff.
I believe we’ll get back up there soon enough because of the technology and adoption that’s soon coming.
What is Bitcoin Trying to Accomplish?
It’s easy to think of cryptocurrency like a stock, where you can buy and sell whenever you think it's right to do so, but do you know there’s more to Bitcoin than its price?
While Bitcoin is an investment, it’s also a great place to store your money and keep your investments diversified.
Think of it like digital gold; people buy gold so they can easily store more of their assets in other investments.
What’s better is that, the value of your investment can appreciate over time, eventually making you more money.
Cryptocurrency has also started making its way in our day-to-day lives.
Many merchant stores like Microsoft, PayPal, Rakuten, and even Subway have started accepting Bitcoins as payment, giving you one more incentive to invest in the future.
Countries like the Central African Republic and El Salvador have actually adopted Bitcoin as its legal tender.
This means, the government officially recognizes Bitcoin by law as one of its official currencies.
With more countries expected to adopt it as legal tender, as well as the possibilities of having a true Bitcoin ETF likely in the next few years, it can only go up from here.
Lastly, there’s only a certain amount of Bitcoin that can be mined, which means Bitcoin is finite.
As more Bitcoin is mined, the scarcity of Bitcoin goes up. Theoretically, this makes the value of Bitcoin that much more rare, which should increase the price years from now.
