Hacker tries to exploit DeFi bridge protocol, fails miserably

While DeFi bridge breaches have grown common this year, Rainbow Bridge engineers were able to intercept an exploit attempt in seconds, resulting in the hacker losing their security deposit.

Malicious groups are increasingly targeting cross-chain bridges. However, not all hackers can make millions from their attack attempts. Some people lose money from their own pockets.

Alex Shevchenko, the CEO of Aurora Labs, detailed the story of a hacker who attempted to exploit the Rainbow Bridge but ended up losing 5 Ether (ETH), which was valued about $8,000 at the time of writing, in a Twitter thread.
