In this video, I discuss the possible effects of a Bitcoin mining ban in the US, by using what happened in China in 2021 as a template.
China banned Bitcoin mining in the summer of 2021. In spite of that, China is still the second largest Bitcoin mining country in the world, as measured by hash rate.
What this means is either that Bitcoin mining bans are impossible to enforce (even in a highly authoritarian country like China), or that Bitcoin mining incentives are so strong that the CCP has chose to mine Bitcoin for itself with confiscated machines.
Either way, the Bitcoin network is being secured, whether by friends or by enemies. Bitcoin is the most anti-fragile, robust cryptocurrency in the world, and cannot be stopped.
