FINALLY! Vitalik Updates Ethereum 2.0 Release Date!
Just a few days ago, Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder of Ethereum, posted a tweet thread expressing his contradicting thoughts about Ethereum, cryptocurrency, and political concerns. The thread received mixed reviews, as some saw the thread as a sign of weakness and confusion for the leader of the 2nd largest cryptocurrency, and others saw it as vulnerability and strength to be able to openly admit his shortcomings. Nonetheless, his thread didn’t seem to move the Ethereum price, as it’s still hovering at around the $2,000 range at the time of writing. Now, Vitalik delivered some straightforward news, as he revealed that his Ethereum 2.0 is almost done, and gave a timeline for it. Many Ethereum holders have been waiting for the move of Proof of Work to Proof of Stake, as it's been in the works for quite some time and now it appears that Ethereum 2.0 is almost at the finish line. Speaking at the Ethereum Shanghai Summit, Vitalik reiterated that the network is on its way to transitioning to a Proof-of-Stake (POS) chain before the “difficulty bomb” delays the protocol. Unless a major setback happens again, Vitalik is confident about when it will be delivered and what’s to come.
